AMANDA Holden is making the most of her summer break from her Heart radio show as she jetted off to Italy with her daughter Alexa.

The 49-year-old shared a series of shots on her Instagram Stories today from her idyllic girls’ trip to the continent with her eldest child, 14, and her pal.

Amanda shared a radiant posy-run selfie before sharing another shot alongside her friend Shara, which saw them clad in floral print dresses.

Writing across the snap, the broadcaster penned: “Italy #girls & our little girls break”.

Later, Amanda shared a sun-soaked shot of her teenage daughter Alexa in the pool and captioned the shot “my princess”.

Amanda’s posts come a day after she sent her love to Simon Cowell and wished him a speedy recovery after he fell off his bike and broke his back.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge said she had been thinking about her friend all day and took to Instagram after Simon had been successfully operated on to share her well wishes.

She wrote: “I’ve been thinking about my dear friend all day and luckily I’m able to say (with blessing) that he’s had his operation and he’s doing really well 🙏🏼.

“Chris Lexi Hollie and me wish you a speedy recovery and send you, Lauren and Eric all our love ❤.”

The 60-year-old star suffered numerous fractures with one just a centimetre from his spinal cord.

A friend of Simon’s told the Mirror: “He was in incredible, ridiculous amounts of pain and also in shock. His back was broke in several places, but he is actually very lucky.

“He fell flat on his back and the doctors say the impact missed his spinal cord by about a centimetre and it could have been a lot, lot more serious.”

The insider said Simon has had a metal rod inserted into his back and will remain in hospital for at least a few more days.

A spokesman for the star told us Simon is “well” after the lengthy procedure.

While the Mirror reports that Simon is “under observation and is doing fine.”

Simon’s representative told People shortly after the painful incident that it happened in the courtyard of his mansion while he was with his family.

They reassured: “He’s doing fine, he’s under observation and is in the best possible hands.”
