AMANDA Holden stunned fans by revealing she starred in EastEnders in the 90s.

The Heart Breakfast Show co-host revealed her first acting gig after drama school was a stint on the BBC One soap.

Speaking on the radio show with co-hosts Jamie Theakston and Ashley Roberts, Amanda said she rubbed shoulders with the likes of Ian Beale while manning a stall in Walford.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge said: “When I left drama school, EastEnders was one of the first jobs I got. I had to look after someone’s stall for half an hour which was like four episodes or something.”

Jamie said: “I didn’t know you were in EastEnders. There’s pictures though?”

She continued: “I was opposite Adam Woodyatt [Ian Beale], your ex-flatmate. That’s not true [laughs].”

Amanda then spoke about what she did on the show, which included messing around with a lot of fruit.

She said: “Ian Beale, I looked after a jewellery stall and he had his fruit and veg, there was a lot of messing around with rude fruit, that’s all I’m going to say.

“I had a lot of fun, it was a nice show to do.”

Amanda went on to appear in TV shows like Wild at Heart, Kiss me Kate and Mad About Alice.

Amanda has moved on from EastEnders

She is now one of the judges on Britain’s Got Talent – the only original one across the 14 seasons alongside Simon Cowell.

The star admitted the show “pays her mortgage” as she gushed over her friendship with boss Simon while chatting with Emma Willis.

Speaking on Instagram Live last week, she said: “We tell each other everything, I’m very close to him… and I’m really grateful, it’s paid my mortgage for years.”

Discussing the BGT judging panel which currently consists of herself, Simon, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, Amanda added: “For him not to have changed it when he could have done – we do get on very well and you can’t fake it that kind of chemistry.”

As the two glam ladies on set, she said of herself and Alesha: “We wear slippers under the desk, we eat food, we wear Spanx…

“And then when David came he pushes all of Simon’s buttons, and we got to see that and the relationship between them has lifted the show. So all of us, the four, it works really well – we’re so lucky.”
