ANT and Dec are donating an National Television Award each to Chris Evans’ NHS charity appeal to raise money for scrubs.

The Geordie duo are renowned for winning the Best TV Presenter gong every year, and have a total of 39 awards including the ones for work on their various TV shows.

DJ Chris has been encouraging stars to donate treasured items to his charity auction in order to raise money for Scrubs, Glorious Scrubs – a voluntary sewing collaborative making non-surgical scrubs for NHS workers.

Stars such as Taylor Swift and Will Smith have got involved, and today Ant and Dec announced what they were offering to the collection.

Posting a photo of them each posing with the award, the pair wrote on their shared social media pages: “Brilliant idea Chris Evans… NHS fundraising for Scrubs Glorious Scrubs.

“We are donating an NTA each! Go to the website to register. Good luck and thank you #nhs”.

Meanwhile, US singer Taylor Swift has donated a signed guitar from her tour, Will Smith his golf clubs, and Sir Rod Stewart a Cartier watch that he bought while on a romantic holiday with his partner Penny Lancaster.

Speaking on his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show, Chris explained that he’d asked his famous pals to donate “something that you’d never in a million years dream of donating”.

He added: “So many superstars have stepped up to the plate and done just that.”

The auction closes at midnight tomorrow (8th May), and people have also been urged to donate a chosen amount to the cause via the website, with three names being randomly selected to win a bumper lot of prizes on Tuesday.
