BRITAIN’S Got Talent viewers believe they have figured out magician Damien O’Brien’s jaw-dropping trick.
The London personal trainer had the judges – David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Ashley Banjo – scratching their heads as he correctly predicted the words, places and numbers they had selected at random.
He then turned a fake phone into a real handset with all the judges’ info already on there.
To make things even more impressive, the words and numbers then appeared written on a piece of paper inside a locked box that Damien hadn’t touched.
Most viewers had no idea how it is was done, but not everyone was fooled.
One sceptic, wrote: “#bgt Magicians phone screen was a snapshot. When he puts phone box lid on, secret compartment in top of box lid with phone in. Bosh!!!
Another noticed the date Amanda gave Damien didn’t actually match the one on the phone screen properly.
They posted: “Okay so amanda said the day she went into the west end was the 5th October 2003, according to the magician it was a Monday #bgt #bgtdamien.”
A third wrote: “Poor magic trick. The answer was in the fake top step of the ladder bought on by the stage hand #BritainsGotTalent
While another said: “Screen sharing boring… Remote printer, slight of hand to put in tube… Boring.”
Damien could still make the final from the public vote after the judges decided to send dancers Jasmine and Aaron straight through to the final.
Alesha loved his work, telling him: “That is genuinely freaking me out, sometimes with magic acts you can figure it out, but with that I am gobsmacked.
“I am super impressed, that will bug me all night now, well done, it was really impressive.”
Amanda said: “I could tell you were nervous when you got started, but it got better and better and it went really well.”
While Ashley revealed Damien had performed at his wedding, and he enjoyed what he saw: “Last time I saw you you performed at my wedding! It blew my mind, you really stepped up.”
