BRITAIN’S Got Talent reduced Amanda Holden to tears this weekend as she watched a death-defying water stunt during the pre-recorded auditions.

Amanda, 49, looked visibly shocked and teary-eyed as she witnessed escape artist Christian Wedoyas trapped in a tank filled with water for over four minutes.

As Christian held his breath the entire time, his face went extremely red and his body began to shake as he tried to unpick the locks keeping him down.

As head judge Simon Cowell shouted for the first aid team to intervene, Amanda watched on in horror and it clearly all became a bit too much for her.

Submerged in water and holding his breath, Christian tried to unlocked four different padlocks; his hands, waist and neck with the help of judge David Walliams.

After David placed the keys into the case, Christian was seen struggling to open the locks and to hold his breath.

The judges at this point are beyond worried as his friend explained to the audience “if he goes over four minutes, we’re in a very bad place”.

Simon Cowell was also concerned for Christian

As the clock went over four minutes, Christian began shake as he tried to get the last lock around his neck loose.

The camera then panned to hosts Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin lifting the paramedics bag closer to the stage as they explained it’s “danger time now”.

Ant even told viewers at home: “He’s shaking,” while Dec added: “It’s hard to watch.”

However, despite being reduced to tears and visible shock, the judging panel were clearly impressed with Christian as they all said “yes” and sent him through to the next round.

Elsewhere, the live BGT shows are currently postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic while the pre-recorded auditions began airing on ITV on April 11.

ITV confirmed that all of the scenes were filmed and created earlier this year – before the ongoing health crisis began.

The new series of Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.
