HE broke his back in three places just over a week ago but SIMON COWELL has already planned his return to work.

I can reveal the music mogul will be filming in October for a one-off special of Britain’s Got Talent, which will air later this year, featuring some of the best acts to appear in the series’ history.

Cowell used to work in the mail room at EMI

Simon, who injured himself falling off an electric bike a fortnight ago, will take his place alongside ALESHA DIXON, AMANDA HOLDEN and DAVID WALLIAMS for the 60-minute special being filmed in London.

He was always going to miss the upcoming BGT semi-finals, as HOAR revealed, but is making a special trip for this celebration, which is likely to air as part of ITV’s festive schedule.

A source said: “Simon is a total workaholic and even an accident as nasty as his won’t keep him off for long. He’s been working from his home in Los Angeles since the accident happened and is in contact with his team.

“The plans for this one-off special of Britain’s Got Talent have been in the pipeline for months and he is convinced he will be well enough to take his place on the panel.

“The show will feature some of the best talent from the start of the series in 2007. Simon has been told to take it easy but he much prefers to be busy. Plus he loves working on BGT, so for him it’s something to look forward to.”

Simon was forced to cancel all his current work commitments after the accident, which happened when he was trying out his new £16,500 bike for the first time.

US pop star KELLY CLARKSON has taken his place on America’s Got Talent as they filmed the finals of the show last week, but insiders have insisted he will be well enough to work again by October.

You can say many things about Simon, but he really is the hardest- working bloke in the biz.

Rolling out a new ballad

Rolling Stones have just released a new song but they’re not resting on their laurels.

Mick Jagger and Co are already preparing their next hit following the success of Scarlet, which had Normal People actor Paul Mescal in the video.

Guitarist Keith Richards says he’s working with their long-term producer Don Was on the track.

He said: “I’m talking to Don and Mick and trying to figure it out. If this thing goes on much longer we might try and put out another track. Work differently, instead of making an ‘album’ album, just release tracks.”

Mick added: “I was working on this ballad. The reading of it is quite difficult to do. It’s not technically difficult, but it’s not an easy song to interpret.”

He told Uncut Magazine: “I’m very aware I’ve got to get it over in the right way. It’s got to come out like you mean it.”

I exclusively revealed how the rock legends had signed Paul for the video, which dropped last week, to their track. The clip sees him dance around a house in a dinner suit.

They will struggle to top that.

Cash ash got the cream

ASHLEY Roberts is doing holidays right, showing off her best bikini despite indulging.

This snap she posted on Instagram proved the ice cream and pizza she’d been munching on had zero effect on the figure.

The Pussycat Doll is in Turkey with a gal pal for her break.

She also posted a picture of a double scooped ice cream cone saying: “Calories don’t count on holiday.”

The former Strictly star then joked that she had been eating the treat for breakfast.

I wish I could get away with ice cream first thing in the morning.

Strop and search for Miley

MILEY Cyrus says taking flights has become a nightmare because airlines constantly believe she is carrying drugs.

The Wrecking Ball singer is now sober but still feels the impact of her wild phase when she bragged about taking illegal substances.

She said: “I was on a no-fly list because everyone assumed I was going to bring in drugs. I could only go [to other countries] to work. I get searched extra crazy.”

And the issue with boarding planes is even worse because she has a phobia of air travel.

Miley, who has just released her new song Midnight Sky, explained: “I’m scared of heights. I hate flying. People won’t sit by me on the plane, I’ve had people ask to move.

“This one woman started drinking beers ferociously because I was screaming that we didn’t have enough speed.”

The GC’s latest oar-deal

GEMMA COLLINS has really pushed the boat out with her latest ridiculous stunt.

She pulled on a wetsuit and went kayaking at the weekend while filming for the second series of her TV show Diva In Lockdown in Lymington, Hants.

Crowds gathered to watch her take to the water. Having braved the river Gemma was all smiles getting out but needed a foil blanket to warm her up again.

The scenes are the latest in a long list of comical scenarios that we’re all too used to seeing her in, most recently being the face of airline Wizz Air and having her mugshot plastered all over a jet.

Planes, boats, whatever next?

Caught live

BIZARRE’S Shan Ally was there as the band became one of the first to return to gigging for a proper audience . . .

This is the UK’s first socially distanced venue and it shows what the future of live music might look like.

And what a brilliant way to restart the industry, the place was buzzing.
The venue had hundreds of separ-ate metal platforms to keep to keep audience members in their own social bubbles.

Face coverings had to be worn to leave the platforms and drinks were delivered to the fans.

At the end of the gig, the band said: “We hope to see more of this in the future, this is going to lead the way.”

It’s not quite the full experience – but it’s a great alternative.

Stormzy £500k for charity

STORMZY has donated £500,000 to the Black Heart Foundation’s Each Day Every Day campaign.

The rapper’s brand #Merky gifted the cash to the charity launched by businessman Ric Lewis to raise money for under-resourced and under- represented children across Britain.

Stormzy, who has pledged to donate £10million over the next ten years to help fight racial inequality, said: “The Black Heart Foundation is an incredible charity and we are proud to make them the first beneficiary to receive funding from our £10million-pledge.”
