SIMON Cowell has been seen for the first time since his horrifying bike accident which left his back broken in three places.

The music mogul turned 61 last week and pal Terri Seymour decided to throw him a belated celebration with an impressive birthday cake to mark his special day.

The 48-year-old entertainment reporter – who dated the Britain’s Got Talent judge from 2002 to 2008 – took to her Instagram Story to share what they got up to for his special day.

In the video, Simon’s six-year-old son Eric and Terri’s daughter Coco, 5, are seen jumping up and down with excitement as they sing to the birthday boy.

Simon can be heard in fits of laughter in the background, before the camera soon pans out at the entertainment manager and wife Lauren sitting comfortably at the table waiting for his tasty cake.

The BGT boss looked better than ever in a smart navy blue jacket, a plain white t-shirt and some stylish circular glasses.

After embracing a new vegan diet which has seen him loose one and a half stone, his wife joked: “the second cake that you’re not allowed to eat,” as he blew out the candles.

This is Simon’s first appearance since the beginning of August when HOAR revealed that the TV mogul was almost left paralysed after breaking his back in 3 places and missed his spinal cord by 1cm.

He was rushed to hospital and underwent six hours of surgery to fix his broken back after falling off of his electric trail bike.

He stayed at Saint John’s hospital in Santa Monica, just a short drive from his £18million home in Malibu, and had a mental rod inserted into his spine after breaking his vertebrae.

The star has had to get replacement judges for American’s and Britain’s Got Talent to make sure he can fully recover

On August 12, 2020 it was revealed that Simon won’t work for weeks and will undergo intense physiotherapy to help him recover and a day later thanked Kelly Clarkson for covering for him on America’s Got Talent.

Then it was reported that Ashley Banjo was to step in as a replacement judge on BGT so he could focus on his recovery.

The dad-of-one is still currently recovering from the tragic accident at home with his family.

Last week HOAR revealed that he will be out of action for up to six months due to surgery complications and the fact that he’s on high-strength drugs to ease the pain, and also needs looking after 24/7.

Simon’s wife Lauren Silverman has been a rock throughout his recovery

Simon has kept a low profile since the accident, but he took to Twitter to address what happened.

He told 11.3m followers: “Some good advice…

“If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.

“I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages..”
