ALISON Hammond has revealed that a former Coronation Street star proposed to her on stage.
The presenter, 45, who is appearing on E4’s Celebs Go Dating, described the star who is married to Rhian Sugden, as her first “true love.”
Rhian’s husband and former cobbles star Oliver Mellor, 39, appeared on the soap between 2010-2013.
Alongside Alison, the actor starred in Beauty and the Beast panto in London 2012 when Oliver was still in Corrie playing dishy doctor Matt Carter.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Alison gushed: “I think I’ve experienced true love three times and one time I didn’t even get to shag him. But I am telling you it was absolutely true love.”
She continued: “I was doing panto with Oliver Mellor, who was from Coronation Street and I fell head over heels in love with him.”

The former I’m A Celeb continued to sing Oliver’s praises adding: “He was so fit and we just got on so well. Oh my god. He was the nicest person. I actually thought this is was what true love feels like.

“I never found the courage to tell him. He’s married now. He’s definitely the one that got away. He was so so fit. He actually made my heart gallop.”
Oliver’s wife Rhian Sugden is a 30-year-old glamour model born and raised in Manchester, UK.
As well as gracing The Sun’s Page 3, she has also appeared in lads mags including Zoo, Nuts and Maxim.
She’s now trying her luck as an author – and is currently penning a tell-all book about her life and loves.
