CELEBRITY Bake Off fans have demanded that Alison Hammond is given a DAMEHOOD after she left viewers in hysterics this evening.

The 45-year-old This Morning favourite was among the star-studded line-up for the Stand Up To Cancer special.

Alison’s Bake Off appearance had fans in hysterics

In the famous tent with Alex Jones, Joe Sugg, and James Blunt, Alison stole the Channel 4 show with her witty one-liners and hilarious escapades.

At one point, the fed-up star snacked on her biscuit showstopper as she gave up on the tricky challenge – and then broke up her biscuits into smaller pieces to meet the designated quota.

She was also seen casually sipping on her water and drily remarking: “I love a bit of drama” after Alex’s mixing bowl shattered in a dramatic accident.

Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their appreciation for Alison – with some even claiming that she should be rewarded for her contribution to comedy.

One wrote: “Alison Hammond is a National Treasure. A Damehood for this woman please.

“A genuine ray of light in dark times.”

Another chuckled: “Alison Hammond on #GBBO is absolutely what we need on lockdown! HYSTERICAL!”

A third shared: “Alison Hammond has carried this episode.”

Her response to Alex’s mixing bowl disaster also had fans in hysterics

Between all of the wise-cracking Alison actually managed to prove herself in the kitchen, landing first place in the Technical Challenge.

The star delighted judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with her mini yorkshire puddings.

However, it wasn’t enough for her to take home the Star Baker prize, which went to vlogger Joe after Alison’s police station-inspired piece left little to be desired.
