THE stars of Dancing On Ice will still receive their full show fees – despite the series being cut short due to the ongoing Covid-crisis and injuries.

HOAR exclusively revealed this afternoon how bosses had been forced to cancel the show by a week after a number of stars quit – leaving them with just five couples left to skate.

The stars of Dancing On Ice and their pro partners, including Becky Vardy and Andy Buchanan, will be paid their full fees – despite the show being cut short

Dancing On Ice will now end on March 14, seven days earlier than previously planned.

The show’s professionals will also be paid their full series salaries.

An insider said: “The decision to cut Dancing On Ice short doesn’t mean any of the stars or professionals will miss out on their pay.

“Each will receive the full series pay and no-one on the show will be penalised because it’s going to be a shorter run.”

The hit ITV series was axed by a week after Jason Donovan joined the long list of stars forced to pull out

This year’s series of Dancing On Ice, hosted by Holly Willoughby, 40, and Phillip Schofield, 56, has been plagued by issues.

The cast even jokingly said the show was cursed because it was its thirteenth season.

Insiders told HOAR today how bosses had decided to cut the run short after it became impossible to fill time.

Only five couples remain, after Joe Warren-Plant and his pro partner Vanessa Bauer were told they would not be allowed to return.

Dancing On Ice bosses had initially considered bringing them back after they were forced to pull out after testing positive for Covid-19.

However they did a U-turn today after fearing uproar from the remaining contestants.

Rufus Hound, 41, who had Covid, Billie Shepherd, 31, and Denise Van Outen, 46, who were both injured, all had at least two weeks off.

Jason Donovan, 52, also quit this week due to a back injury he could not shake off.

Lady Leshurr is one of the five remaining contestants on the shortened series

HOAR revealed exclusively how the show’s producers had to pause filming for the first time — meaning no show aired last Sunday.

They took the unprecedented decision because of a spate of injuries and positive Covid-19 tests, leaving them with too few celebrities to fill the two-hour slot and no reserve skaters for the first time in the show’s history.

Dancing On Ice is expected to return this Sunday, with Rebekah Vardy, 39, Lady Leshurr, 32, Colin Jackson CBE, 54, Sonny Jay, 27, and Faye Brookes, 33, taking to the rink.
