DANCING On Ice pro Alexander Demetriou was spotted leaving Maura Higgins’ Essex home today – after removing his wedding ring for the show final yesterday.
The skater – who again wasn’t wearing his ring – failed to raise a smile as he emerged in a blue tracksuit following a big night celebrating the series.
Maura and Alexander were amongst the stars who partied until 4am this morning with the rest of the cast and crew.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted his ring was absent as he reunited with newly single Maura during the finale last night just hours after The Sun on Sunday revealed his marriage to fellow pro Carlotta Edwards is “broken beyond repair”.
He hasn’t been wearing it since February 9 amid friends’ claims he had grown close to celebrity dance partner Maura on the ice.
Pals say news of their separation is imminent, despite them both publicly posting love messages to each other online.
It is unclear if Carlotta attended the party until the early hours but she gushed about Alex earlier in the evening, telling fans: “Love this one so much.”
Last week Maura, 29, announced she had split from Love Island boyfriend Curtis Pritchard, 24.
The Sun revealed she was kept apart from Alexander’s wife Carlotta, who he married in 2016, at the final over fears of a backstage bust-up.
Tensions between the pair have been simmering as insiders spoke out about Alexander, 28, and Carlotta’s four-year-marriage being on the rocks.
Maura’s dance partner is said to be ‘besotted with her’
A close friend told the Sun on Sunday: “Alex’s marriage to Carlotta is all but over, after 11 years together.
“They are trying to put on a united front for now, but the writing is on the wall.
“They haven’t been happy together in months, and Alex has been confiding in Maura about their personal problems, which hasn’t helped.
“He is besotted with her, and feels she is a much better fit for him than Carlotta, who is livid she is being pushed to one side.
“Their marriage seems to be broken beyond repair, and friends and family are now expecting them to make that publicly known once Dancing On Ice is over.”
