DANCING on Ice’s Jayne Torvill was left unable to speak following Libby Clegg’s emotional performance in which she paid tribute to the Paralympics.
Libby competed in tonight’s grand final and scored four 10’s for a routine that left Jayne speechless.
For her first dance of the night, Libby and partner Mark Hanretty performed a patriotic routine paying tribute to her sporting achievements, which includes winning two gold medals at the 2016 Paralympic games.
By the end of the dance, the 29-year-old received a standing ovation and emotions were running high.
Following the end of the dance, Libby told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: “I’m going to be honest, I have been holding this in all week.
She added: “I am so privileged and honoured that Chris and Jayne did this for me.”
Crossing over to the judges for their thoughts on the routine, ice dancing legend and Olympic gold medallist Jayne, 62, couldn’t find the words as she was overcome with emotion.
Phillip remarked “She’s done”, before leaving it to Christopher Dean to begin the feedback.
John Barrowman was also very emotional as teams streamed his face.
He said: “That was stunning to watch you live your life like that. You’re a woman who never gives up.”
Libby also scored four 10’s in her second dance and went on to finish third in the competition.
Joe Swash and Alex Murphy were crowned winners of the show, and the Perri Kiely and Vanessa Bauer finished runners-up.
A stunned Joe looked overwhelmed as he was crowned champion. He said: “Honestly, this has been the most amazing experience and to share it with Alex…”
Gracious in defeat, the Diversity star replied: “I’ve achieved everything I wanted to. Joe has come so far and I’ve genuinely made a friend for life with Joe, he’s my brother. I love you mate.”
