DANCING On Ice’s John Barrowman has revealed he hasn’t spoken to Caprice since she quit show – and is skating with Hamish Gaman.

Viewers of the ITV skating show were left shocked last month when it was announced model Caprice, 48, had ‘parted ways’ with her professional partner Hamish, 36.

Caprice was then paired with a new skater – Oscar Peter – but after just one week of skating together, it was announced on last Sunday’s show that she had quit the series.

Speaking exclusively about the drama to The Sun Online at The Sun’s Millies Awards on Thursday night, John – who joined the show as a judge this year – said it had been hard for everyone involved.

He said: “We’ve had a divorce in the family and the divorce like any family has, I don’t take sides.
“I’m friends with both of them and I’m skating with Hamish at the moment.”

The 52-year-old added: “And Caprice I haven’t spoken to as I think she’s still working things out, I just hope that they both get back to their own normal selves. That’s what we want.”

While a clear reason for Caprice and Hamish’s split has never been given by the show, John revealed: “They just didn’t get on, that was it.”

John’s comments come after it was revealed Hamish will put the drama behind him to perform an defiant ‘solo’ skate.

He has teamed up with fellow pro Vanessa Bauer for the routine and can’t wait to put on a spectacular performance.

The show’s Associate Creative Director Dan Whiston has been working hard with the pair behind the scenes and said: “It’s really lovely for them. It’s really exciting. It’s going to be a wicked routine.

“He’s been involved in every show since he parted ways with Caprice, but this week he’ll be doing a solo with Vanessa so he’s really excited about that.”

Hamish, 36, admitted he wasn’t OK in the aftermath of his split from Caprice, but show bosses have given him a special opportunity to concentrate on his skating.

Eliminated skaters rarely get the chance to take the limelight, but Hamish has been given a solo slot.

Dancing on Ice continues on Sunday, February 9 at 6pm on ITV.
