HAMISH Gaman made headlines after his bitter fall out with Dancing On Ice 2020 contestant Caprice Bourret.

He then pulled out of the week seven show after admitting he had been ‘struggling’ following their spat.

But why have the duo parted ways and has Hamish actually quit the series? We get down to the bottom of the rumours…

Has Hamish Gaman quit Dancing on Ice?

No – Hamish Gaman has not quit Dancing On Ice.However, the 36-year-old will not be skating on the show with Caprice again.

A source confirmed: “Hamish will be continuing on the show as part of the group performances each week but he wont be dancing with Caprice again.”

Caprice, who is an American model and businesswoman, had initially expressed an interest in skating with Hamish but unfortunately things turned sour very quickly.

The pair grew to hate each other and Caprice was branded a diva and lazy.

On Sunday, February 16, the professional skater announced he would not be appearing in the show that day.

In a statement on Instagram, he said: “I’m sad to say that I’ve pulled out of appearing on Dancing On Ice tonight.

“The past three-and-a-half months have been the worst of my life, and I’m struggling. It might look like things have been calming down, but they aren’t.”

He added: “Numerous defamatory articles have been stopped from running in the press over the past few weeks. These untrue stories are continually being fed to the press by a ‘source’.

“I’ve been told by various people where these articles and source quotes are coming from, and it’s clear that they’re trying to destroy my reputation.

What has Hamish Gaman said about the Caprice Bourret fallout?

Hamish broke his silence on their fallout at the end of January, 2020, telling fans he was “not okay” following the furore.

He told his 47,000 Instagram followers: “Thank you so much for your kind messages. Ive been overwhelmed by your love and supportits brought me to tears at times.

“Honestly, Im not okay, but Id like to thank Amelia, my pro family and ITV for doing all that they can to support me.

“Im comforted knowing the truth always comes out in the end, and I hope we can focus on the skating again now.”

Meanwhile, an insider revealed exclusively to The Sun Online: Caprice was mean to Hamish during rehearsals – it was often in front of other cast and crew – and he was left very upset by it because he’s such a professional and a gentle giant.

“Hamish was walking on egg shells a lot of the time – he felt Caprice seemed to struggle with the demands of the show and described her as a bit of a diva because she would tell him off a lot and just generally thought she was above it all.”

They continued: “She was also reluctant to put in the hours or effort which led to tensions between them. Hamish found it difficult dealing with her, but he wasn’t the only one – Caprice isn’t well-liked backstage.”

They continued: “It’s a shame as Hamish is very popular and all of his other celebrity partners have always loved him because he’s so kind and patient.”

Is Hamish Gaman married?

No –Hamish Gamanis not actually married.

However, he is in a long-term relationship with his artist girlfriend, Amelia Humfress.

The happy couple share snaps of each other on Instagram, and they live with their Pomeranian dog named Zana and an Akita named Akira.

Amelia is an illustrator but has also started learning to skate with Hamish’s help and has been sharing updates on a special Instagram account –@ameliaskating.

Amelia’s Insta page also states she’s vegan – as is Hamish.

What is Hamish Gaman’s dance experience?

Hamis Gaman is a 35-year-old whobegan skating in 1998 and is a member of Guildford IFSC in Surrey.

Alongside his skate partner Caitlin Yankowskas, he became the 2015 Challenge Cup silver medallist and 2015 British National champion.

On September 10, 2015, Hamish and Caitlin announced their retirements from competitive figure skating citing lack of funding as the reason.

Hamish had previously partnered with Vanessa James and Rebecca Collett, and had been coached by Bruno Marcotte and choreographed by Julie Marcotte.

He joined Dancing On Ice when it returned to ITV in 2018.
