DANCING On Ice star Joey Essex has revealed that being in the skate-off last week was a “blessing” in disguise as it has prepared him for the final.
The 32 year old TV personality was part of the skate-off in last week’s show alongside Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher and The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran.
But according to Joey, being put in that position could not have come at a better time. Speaking to HOAR he said: “From the start I made myself a promise. “
He added: “When I was on This Morning, they asked ‘am I going to take this serious’, and I said yes. I’ve kept to my promise. I’ve not seen friends or family. I’ve not really gone out I’ve not done anything.”
Joey first became a household name in 2011 when he appeared in The Only Way Is Essex. At first, he was a supporting cast mate to his cousin Chloe Sims but producers soon noticed his unique character, and so promoted him to the main cast.
With only three days left until either Joey, Nile or The Vivienne is crowned winner of this year’s show, Joey insists that he has no regrets due to his sheer determination to exceed in every performance.
He added: “My whole life has been focused on Dancing On Ice. And I won’t have any regrets because I know, because that’s why I believe where I’m at, and being in the skate-off I felt was a blessing. It’s almost prepared me for the final.”
But if Joey is not crowned winner, it looks as though he may have started a blossoming relationship with his professional partner Vanessa Bauer.
The pair have been posting a number of loved up snaps on social media but are yet to confirm their relationship status.
However, in a recent interview Vanessa claimed that they were just skating partners but at the end of one of their performances the oair shares=d a kiss.
Dancing on Ice returns to ITV1 at 6.30pm on Sunday March 12
