John Barrowman has revealed he will return as a Dancing On Ice judge for the 2021 series

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online at The Sun’s Millies Awards on Thursday, John confirmed he would be back again next year.

He said: “I’m loving it and I’ll be back next year. The judges are all getting along well.”

However, John revealed his job as a judge was going to get harder from this week, adding: “This weekend is going to be kind of a big upset because two skaters – really good ones – are going to be in the bottom two.

“All the skaters who weren’t up to their par have all gone so now it’s time for…it’s a different competition now so it’s going to be hard for us as judges.”

John also spoke about the backstage drama on this year’s series, which saw Caprice part ways with her professional partner Hamish Gaman last month.

The 48-year-old model was then paired with a new skater – Oscar Peter – but after just one week of skating together, it was announced on last Sunday’s show that she had quit the series.

Revealing it had been for everyone involved, John said: “We’ve had a divorce in the family and the divorce like any family has, I don’t take sides.
“I’m friends with both of them and I’m skating with Hamish at the moment.”

The 52-year-old added: “And Caprice I haven’t spoken to as I think she’s still working things out, I just hope that they both get back to their own normal selves. That’s what we want.”

While a clear reason for Caprice and Hamish’s split has never been given by the show, John revealed: “They just didn’t get on, that was it.”

Dancing on Ice continues on Sunday, February 9 at 6pm on ITV.
