LOVE Island winner Davide Sanclimenti has broken his silence on reports he might have popped the question to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu during their romantic holiday.
The couple, who won the show over the summer, jetted to the Maldives for some quality time together and sparked rumours as they posed for a series of very loved-up shots.
But speaking to HOAR, Davide, 27, has insisted it is too early to pop the question – but marriage and babies are on the cards.
Chatting as he launches his second range with boohooMAN, Davide said: “I feel like even if everything is going well, there are the right intentions towards the future, but I feel like it’s been just six months.
“So it would be wise to have a relationship for at least one year, two years or at least a bit of time to really be sure before committing for life.
“We talk about it sometimes, we joke about the future and being together and having kids so it’s not something impossible but I don’t think so in the very short term.”
He added: “We are very close, I told her I feel like I have known her for a couple of years, sometimes we feel we always knew each other.”
It’s the first time the couple have managed to have a proper beak since being on the show and they ended up extending their time there.
Gushing about the trip, Davide said: “We had two weeks to relax, just time for me and her, which has been nice.
“After we left the villa it has been very, very busy, so this time has been two weeks, far from everyone, work commitments, just time for me and her to enjoy the sun.”
The trip came just a few days after Ekin-Su lost her place on Dancing On Ice.
Opening up about how he supported Ekin afterwards, Davide explained: “I always tell her she should look at where she started and where she ended up.
“I was really impressed when I saw a video of her first day on ice and I tell her it was a competition with yourself and you won just because you have been able to perform really well.
“I always tell her you should be happy and satisfied because everyone is proud of you and you should be proud of yourself.
“The first night is normal to feel a bit sad but then life goes on and we went on holiday and had an amazing time and now are ready for the future.”
Davide is so smitten with his girlfriend he has even included a little tribute to her in his latest collection.
“We are showing a more personalised style,” he explained: “Even the jumper I am wearing now, it say Amore Mio, whenever I want to tell Ekin I love her, I call her Amore Mio. I feel like we put something more personal on it.”
