LOVE Island’s Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard have split up after seven months together.

The Dancing On Ice star, 29, broke the news to fans on Instagram tonight as she admits her and The Greatest Dancer receptionist, 24, “couldn’t make it work”.

Curtis and Maura have decided to call it quits on their relationship

The pair struggled to see each other as their busy schedules kept them apart.

Maura wrote on Instagram: “Curtis and I have made the decision to separate. We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.

“There is no easy way to get through a breakup and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.”

This comes after numerous rumours the pair had split after they were pictured on separate nights out.

On Saturday night Maura downed vodka from the bottle as pal Chris Taylor poured it into her mouth while partying in Luxx nightclub.

Meanwhile Curtis was out with his co-stars on The Greatest Dancer after filming wrapped just seven miles away from Maura’s night out.

Earlier today, Maura’s rep told The Sun Online the couple are “still together”, while Curtis’s also denied the split – but it didn’t stop fans speculating about their sudden silence on social media.

One concerned follower said: “I think maura and curtis have split up, they haven’t been seen together for weeks on socials or in person. I’m calling it now.”

Another wondered: “Do u think maybe maura & curtis are in an open relationship?”

Someone else asked on Maura’s Instagram: “Have you and Curtis broken up?”

Maura was said to have been angered by Curtis’ excessive drinking – which came just two weeks after Curtis was forced to deny cheating on Maura during a night out.

But they appeared to be back on a week later when Maura wished her boyfriend a happy birthday on February 8 by posting a snap of them at the awards do. She hasn’t shared any updates since.

The pair met on Love Island

Maura and Curtis first fell in love during last summer’s Love Island, though it wasn’t love at first sight.

Irish beauty Maura had her sights set on boxer Tommy Fury who was in a happy relationship with Molly-Mae Hague.

She’s now close pals with Molly after putting the Tommy drama behind them.

In a late series twist, Maura revealed she had grown feelings for Curtis in the villa and found the courage to confess.

Fans accused them of getting together for the final

His relationship with co-star Amy Hart had broken down during the dreaded Casa Amor week.

Fans were sceptical at first, accusing Curtis and Maura of “faking their feelings” for a place in the final.

But aside from Tommy and Molly, they were the last remaining couple still going strong from the 2019 series.

Curtis asked Maura to be his girlfriend during a romantic weekend break three months after leaving the villa.

While Molly and Tommy have bought a house in Manchester, Curtis and Maura were not ready to move in together yet.

Instead they spent time at each other’s pads in London or nights away in hotels.
