Philip told viewers and contestants: “I have some big news about the semi-final because I can reveal that next week there will be a double elimination. Not one but two couples will be leaving the competition. That’s the first time they’ve heard that.”

Philip then pointed at Joey Essex who looked visibly shocked and said: “Your face!!… Oh yes, has this shocked you?”

To which the Towie star replied: “A little bit, yeah!”

Philip then said: “I can tell. Our couples really want to steer clear of that double elimination.”

The preview for next week showed that the remaining couples will also be skating twice for the semi-finals.

But this time the second routine will be performed solo.

This week Carly Stenson had to bid farewell after being voted off in the skate off.

She was forced to fight for her place in the competition against The Wanted’s Siva.
