HOLLY Willoughby took the reins on This Morning as the show marked International Women’s Day.

The TV star – who joined the ITV show in 2009 – was front and centre without co-star Phillip Schofield in a rare show shake-up.

Holly, 42, was instead surrounded by dozens of This Morning‘s female production staff on Wednesday.

The group broke out into a huge cheer and Holly said: “Well look at this, this is a lovely way to start the show, to celebrate International Women’s Day we wanted to start with the incredible ladies who help put this show together.

“From our hardworking runnders and producers to our wonderful crew, and incredible line-up of This Morning experts,

“We are very proud to work with you amazing women, give yourself a huge round of applause.”

Phil wasn’t actually missing – he was across the road getting ready to surprise one inspiring woman who thought she was on a day trip to London to meet her brother.

The show then cut to Phil who was seen walking into a cafe and finding Chloe Hammond – one of the few disabled nurses in the UK.

Phil told her This Morning would pay her bills for her assistance dog Otto for a year which cost £5000, and send her for a spa day.

International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate women from all around the world and all walks of life.

Every year on March 8 females come together to unite against prejudice, inequality and to raise awareness about discrimination.

To celebrate the day this year HOAR has created a nationwide campaign called ‘We Define It’ and this is what it’s all about.

It offers an authentic take on the different empowering qualities that make up modern women all defined in our female readers’ own voices.
