ALISON Hammond has shared secrets from her time on I’m A Celebrity that weren’t shown on TV at the time.

The This Morning star was a late entry into the jungle in 2010, eight years after finding fame in the Big Brother House.

Alison didn’t find life in camp easy

She was the third celeb to be eliminated in the series which was won by Stacey Solomon and featured former Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik, Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder and Olympic sprinter Linford Christie.

Speaking to GKBarry on the Saving Grace podcast, Alison dashed the host’s hopes that the camp would be a good place to get a sun tan.

She said: “No, you can’t. There’s trees everywhere and also they’ve got this canopy for lighting.

“You feel like you’re on a camping film set but you can’t see the cameras.”

Every year celebrities try and sneak banned items into camp, some more successfully than others.

In her series, it was Gillian McKeith who brought in contraband, and she got away with it for a while.

Alison said: “We had Gillian McKeith. She smuggled in a load of salt and seasonings, so she made the rice taste so good.

“She smuggled them in her pants… In a bag. You know when you’re desperate and rice bland is awful, and then she got caught and they took it off us and I was devastated.”

Gillian dramatically fainted in front of hosts Ant and Dec, and her fellow campmates, during an infamous group challenge.

Many viewers accused her of faking it, but to this day she insists she was genuinely unwell.
