I’M A Celebrity fans are convinced that last night’s Buschtucker Trial was a set up for Richard Madeley to fail as he only managed to get four stars.

The 65-year-old TV presenter – who was rushed to hospital in the early hours of this morning after falling ill in the camp – really struggled to find the stars.

Richard particularly struggled with the knots

He was left unable to untie a series of tricky knots – leaving those watching at home furious.

One person raged: “Richard’s trial was unbelievably unfair. How was he meant to do that?”

A second added: “The trial Richard Madeley just did was impossible… no way was anybody ever going to get all those stars…they don’t want them to eat too well this year.”

While a third wrote: “Ridiculous and impossible trial for Richard Madeley. You knew it wasn’t happening with the time given even after skipping sections. GET REAL.”

During the trial, rotten food was dumped on Richard, who said: “That’s seven tons of fruit, I’ll never find a star in here. Oh, it’s freezing. Oh, this is really, really hard…there’s just no way of sorting the wheat from the [chaff].”

After searching in dark chambers for 10 minutes as fish guts and offal fell on him, the klaxon sounded with Richard only managing to get four out of 10 stars, securing a meal of squirrel for the camp.

The new GMB presenter was really upset by failing to secure more food for the camp and told Ant and Dec: “Such a disappointment. We’ll have something to eat tonight. I was really hoping to do better than that.”

Speaking in the Telegraph later, he added: “I’m very disappointed. I just don’t see what more I could have done.”
