I’M A Celebrity legend Gillian McKeith has lifted the lid on life in the jungle and believes other campmates will be ‘jealous’ Matt Hancock is getting picked for all the trials.

Gillian notoriously took part on the show back in 2010, being voted for six trials during her time in the jungle, with a live show screeching to a halt after she “fainted” live on air.

She’s since revealed she even pretended to be pregnant to swerve any more endurance challenges.

But speaking exclusively to HOAR Online, the TV nutritionist reckons that bushtucker trials are actually of benefit to the campmates, with the former health secretary getting the screentime and attention others desperately want.

She said: “There is definitely jealousy in the camp, the celebs who are fame hungry definitely resent those who get the trials.

“We all know the reason why everyone does it is primarily for the money, but there are also some who do it for their career and the exposure.”

However, Gillian added she believes she got a harder time of things, with the series getting softer over time.

“I feel like we have entered a new era on I’m A Celeb,” she said. “Things have gotten kinder as the years have gone on. I don’t know if it’s easier these days but it’s definitely kinder.

“People are more careful about what they will say about others as they don’t know how they will be perceived, but when I did my show, they were so vicious about me. I only found that out when I came out.”

Gillian eventually left the series in eighth place after spending 16 days in the jungle. Stacey Solomon eventually won that year, with Shaun Ryder coming in second.

Her comments come as fans have complained that they’re getting “bored” of watching Matt Hancock taking on every single trial.

Since his arrival last Wednesday, three days into this year’s series, Hancock has been voted for every trial.

He has also now been voted camp leader, with Loose Women star Charlene White as his second-in command.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here airs weeknights at 9pm on ITV.
