LOVE Island’s Olivia Attwood has revealed that she has been having nightmares about creepy crawlies after signing up to I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
The reality star, 31, who describes herself as an animal lover, admitted that she is preparing herself to be covered in bugs during the gruesome Bushtucker Trials on the ITV show which starts on Sunday.
Speaking to HOAR about her fears, she said: “I don’t mind the odd bug on its own – it is when there are like 10,000 of them in a box!
“Obviously, yes, I have been having nightmares about that! It is a whole different thing. I just don’t think anyone knows how they are going to cope with that because it’s not something that you have ever had to test.”
However Olivia, who rose to fame on the 2017 series of Love Island, admitted that she would be disappointed in herself if she uttered the famous line, “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”
She said: “I think if you say you are never going to say it you are jinxing yourself. I would hate to say it and I think it would take a hell of a lot for me to say it because I am quite determined and I have watched the show for years.
“You don’t want to be the person coming back with no stars if you have not had a go. If you have had a proper go and you get no stars it is what it is but I would hate to walk away from a trial and not be able to honestly say to myself that I gave it my best shot.
“Some of them [trials] are really difficult, like, if you watch every year it’s not even the bugs it is getting those little stars off the ropes that is actually harder!
“So as long as I have given it a real good crack I am OK with that.”
Speaking about receiving the call from producers, Olivia revealed that she had no rider requests and jumped at the opportunity to star on the show that she has watched growing up.
“I just couldn’t believe that I was getting the call to be honest I was just too excited – you are going into the jungle, you are not allowed to take anything so I don’t think there is much room for anything like that.
“I was just so excited to get the call for the year going back to Australia which is massively exciting and it is warm and sunny.”
Asked if she thinks her Bushtucker Trial on Extra Camp in 2018 will give her an advantage, Olivia added: “Well I think it was nice because I had a little look around so I have a bit more of an idea of how it all works but obviously I didn’t stay in there.
“I was only in there for a couple of hours so not a total preparation but yeah it was nice to come out here and see how it all works but it is pretty surreal to be doing the real thing.
Meanwhile Olivia, who has adopted dogs Stitch and Lola, revealed she is still planning on eating meat in camp – even if it means a kangaroo testicle.
She said: “I am a huge animal lover but obviously I am not a vegetarian so I can’t exactly play that card.
“I do eat meat and as much as I try to look into where my meat is sourced, I am not a vegetarian so eating and stuff is not an issue for me.
“I know that this show has been going on for 20 years and animal welfare is the height of their priorities. I would never do anything that would put animals in discomfort or danger.”
