Charlene White was the first celebrity to be voted off on Friday night

However, the public vote offs have begun and last night saw Loose Women’s Charlene White become the first celebrity to leave the camp.

In tonight’s show, the remaining celebrities were left devastated by her departure.

Babatúndé said: “I’m very sad to see Charlene leave, she’s like my big sis, love Charlene man.”

Sue added: “I really did not see that coming. I’m going to miss her a lot. I’ve lost my buddy. I’m sad.”

Owen was just as gutted, saying: “It was so, so sad. She’s taught me so much in camp.”

Mike added: “She’s been great, she will be missed.”

Newsreader Charlene, 42, was booted off after quitting her Bushtucker trial earlier in the episode.

She said: “It was emotional. To use that ridiculous American phrase, It has been a journey, and I’ve absolutely loved living with those guys.

“Every single one of those guys have been great.”

On sharing the jungle with disgraced MP Matt Hancock, the ITV broadcaster said she wanted to remain impartial and commented: “Well I think my money was on him or Liz Truss in terms of which one you guys were going to convince to come on.

“I was surprised but not surprised, I may well be in the jungle but journalism is my first job.”

She sipped on her glass of champagne and added: “I wanted to ask questions that people on the outside had.

“We had to live alongside him and adapt to that. He’s made some connections in there which is wonderful.”
