THE I’M A Celebrity campmates will be secretly given handwarmers after their return to the castle.
Bosses tasked production staff with finding quick-heating ‘beanbags’, which will be hidden in hessian sacks so they blend into the background of the Grade I listed ruins.
It’s thought Arlene Phillips, the oldest campmate in the show’s history aged 72, and former BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin will opt to use them.
Arlene had been struggling in the days before they were evacuated from the camp due to Storm Arwen with insiders fearing she may have to quit.
Louise, 53, suffers from Raynaud’s Syndrome, which causes her hands and feet to go numb in the cold.
A source said: “Bosses know this is a programme where there’s an expectation from the viewers that the celebs aren’t in a holiday camp.
“But equally they have a duty of care to them, particularly the older, more vulnerable contestants.
“Not everyone will choose to use a heater, but they are there if they are wanted.”
News of the hand-warmers come after we told of the castle’s secret supply of hot water to keep the campers happy.
Celebrities who smoke are being supplied with packs of cigarettes in their Grade I-listed I’m A Celebrity castle home.

The cosseted stars also have a heated cabin where they can wait as they prepare for trials.
The revelations come after producers had promised this year’s series in North Wales, the 21st, would be the “toughest” so far for stars.
The celebs were told — along with viewers — that to get warm water they must keep a specially-built boiler stoked with wood.
Producers said the VIPs have to manually pump a device to reach a certain pressure for the boiler to work.
In reality, it can be turned on with the flick of a switch.
