IM A Celebrity is facing an Ofcom investigation after getting over 600 complaints about animal cruelty and bullying.

Throughout the series, which ended on Sunday night, 615 viewers called the broadcasting regulator after being left uncomfortable by Ian Wright and James Haskells treatment of Andrew Maxwell as well as the continued use of live animals during trials.

Viewers complained about James Haskell losing his temper on the show

Rugby player James caused a stir when he branded his fellow campmates stupid in a row over the Dingo Dollar challenge.

Viewers found his anger difficult to watch particularly when he appeared to direct it at Andrew.

James also sparked 78 complaints after making a clubfoot comment, which viewers claimed mocked disability.

In a conversation with Ian Wright, he said: “Hes completely lost the plot.

“Look at that clubfoot. Go on then, expend that energy.”

Clubfoot also known as talipes is a birth defect that can mean one or both feet point down and inwards at the ankle.

Football Ian received numerous complaints after he was accused of bullying comedian Andrew.

Ian clash with Andrew several times, and the comedian became emotional as he acknowledged thatthe ex footballer doesn’t talk to any other campers the same way he does to him.

Other complaints came for the shows decision to use live animals during the trials including putting spiders in the contestants mouths.

The show has come under fire in the past for using live animals

Andrew has since said he has no issue with Ian or James after his stint in the jungle.

He said of Ian: I love the man. We are really similar. Everybodys a family man or family woman but I think both of us are on the same level, and got on the same rhythm of being down and missing our families at the exact same time.

But there was never even a moment of personal animosity. There was huge amounts of affection. Absolutely again its learning to live with other people.
