One penned: “oh matty lee is so upset to go, he’s SO cute i can’t even” (sic).

“Adam and Matty both seem so sad to leave this is a sad night,” another shared.

A third commented: “Matty looks so sad he’s leaving :((“.

“Very sad to see matty leave. Bless him he looks gutted,” a fourth posted.

That means the final will be contested by four celebs – Frankie Bridge, David Ginola, Simon Gregson and Danny Miller.

The quartet will now take on the epic Celebrity Cylone challenge, where they have to grip on to stars while being blasted with water cannons.

ITV bosses have accelerated the departure of this year’s campmates ahead of Sunday night’s finale.

Adam and Matty left hot on the heels of former BBC breakfast presenter Louise Minchin, who was sent packing last night.

She followed Arlene Phillips, Snoochie Shy, Naughty Boy and Kadeena Cox out of the door. Richard Madeley was earlier forced to pull out.

Asked how he coped in camp Adam said: “I’ve spent 36 years with a script. I’m not like Simon – he’s naturally funny.”

He added, getting emotional: “I’ve had a fantastic time. It was going to be a new start. There’s a lot of stuff still going on.

“I’ve had so much fun, I’ve had such a laugh. Even when you sent me back down to The Clink I had a lovely evening with Arlene.”

Adam, 53, added: “I wanted to do the eating trial. I kept putting my snood in but it never came out.”

Ant joked: “Get him back, get him back in now.”

Dec added: “We’ll see if we can rustle up a few testicles for you and drop them off at the hotel.”

Matty, 23, said he was proud that he’d shown the world a new side to him, away from the ultra-focused athlete we saw in the Olympics.

He said: “I know there’s a funny side to me and going in here would show everyone who I am and I hope I’ve done that in the best way possible.”
