I’m A Celebrity fans were left stunned when Charlene White  was axed ahead of controversial stars including Boy George and Matt Hancock.

It was her refusal to bunk up with Matt in the RV that riled several fans and lead them not to vote to save her from eviction.

Now Charlene’s ITV pals have rallied around her – and were stunned with the results.

Lorraine star Ria Hebden told HOAR at the star-studded Strange World premiere with Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal: “I’m very proud of Charlene. She stayed true to herself. She stood by her principles. She should have stayed in longer.

Dancing on Ice star Ria said Charlene’s ITV family were cheering her on.

She added: “We were all rooting for her.”

Ria is not the first of Charlene’s TV fam to rally around her.

Newsreader Charlene, 42, was booted off after quitting her Bushtucker trial earlier in the episode.

Following her I’m A Celebrity exit, the stars of Loose Women took to social media to praise Charlene and the work she did on the show.

“Nooo, not Charlene White! She was absolutely amazing in there,” said Frankie Bridge on Instagram.

“Aww, just seen Charlene White is leaving. You did yourself proud, you can get home and squeeze those babies!” said Nadia Sawalha.

Meanwhile Charlene has revealed she feared Matt would jeopardise her job when he arrived in the jungle.

The ITV newsreader, 42, revealed she was “constantly worrying” that being seen to become friendly towards the MP would damage her professionally.

She said: “It went from me having a laugh to constantly worrying about whether or not I could still do my job when I came out.

“I didn’t want anyone to feel like I was being too sympathetic to Matt because that would jeopardise the job that I love and it would jeopardise my journalistic integrity.

“It would have shattered the impartiality that I’ve consistently had for 20 years.”
