DEC Donnelly has hit back at “harsh” fans who slated I’m A Celebrity stars for sobbing over their letters from home.

Just two weeks into the reality TV experience, celebrities broke down in tears as they heard from their loved ones.

Dec Donnelly was less than impressed by the comments from fans
The I’m A Celebrity campmates were given their letters from home tonight – and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight

It prompted viewers to make fun of the campmates, with one writing on Twitter: “I’ll never understand the drama over letters from home on TV shows. I’ve ignored texts longer than they are in the jungle! #ImACeleb.”

But after spotting this tweet from a fan, Dec shared it to his 6.7million followers.

He said: “I think the people saying this are a bit harsh and probably don’t have small children!

“Bearing in mind they isolated for 2 weeks before the series they’ve now been away from family, camping with strangers and starved for a full month! D.”

The celebs took part in a challenge to win each other’s special messages from loved-ones.

They had to pair up with someone else in camp and recall a six digit code to win the letter for their pal.

Kadeena Cox and Danny Miller failed to get theirs right, meaning that Adam Woodyatt and David Ginola missed out.

As the campmates read out their letters around the campfire there wasn’t a dry eye in sight, with many of them sobbing into each other’s arms.

But fans of the ITV show were confused about why they were so sad, considering they’ve only been away for a few days.

One wrote on the social media platform: “I’ll never understand the drama over letters from home on TV shows. I’ve ignored texts longer than they are in the jungle!”

A second said: “I’m just going to say it! Letters from home… they’ve only been away a fortnight but they all weep like they’ve been shipped of for years!! Really?! You have longer holidays!!”

A third chimed in: “When they read the letters out it’s like they are getting their first letter from home, & they are doing a fucking 10 stretch in Walton. They’re f***ing going home next week.”

Meanwhile others were shocked tonight as Kadeena Cox was booted out before her controversial campmate Naughty Boy.

The Paralympian lasted 14 days in the Castle – but failed to secure the votes she needed to stay any longer.

She became the second person to leave after Arlene Phillips, 78, was first to get the axe last night, while Naughty Boy breezed through the vote off.

“It was harder than I thought it would be,” Kadeena admitted to hosts Ant and Dec during her exit interview.

During her time in camp, Kadeena had bust-ups with Naughty Boy in the kitchen as they argued over cooking.

Frankie couldn’t contain her emotions as her letter was read out to her
