The gutsy performance won him and Giovanna Fletcher eight star for the camp

They were told they were playing for pub grub, that was served as The Castle Inn.

Giovanna got onto the cart which carried barrels of fish guts, offal and other castle nasties.

She threw the gunk in large handfuls into Vernon’s helmet and then guided him over to the containers, directing him to stop and lower his head in order to transfer it from the helmet. Host Dec Donnelly told them: “Well that took guts.”

The stars rattled out karaoke in the castle’s makeshift pub.

Jordan North sang I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor, while Jessica led a singalong of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas.

Olympic hero Sir Mo Farah duetted with Shane on Spandau Ballet’s Gold, while Giovanna Fletcher and Vernon Kay teamed up on Backstreet Boys’ Everybody.

Jordan North was left gutted after his closest pal in the castle, Beverley Callard, was sent home on Monday night.

“We clicked from day one and she’s a beautiful person inside and outside. I’m going to miss her, I really am.”

The celebrities mixed old bananas into their breakfast to try and increase their energy levels.
