CHLOE Madeley suffered her own Bushtucker Trial-style horror despite not being in the I’m A Celeb jungle during a critter-filled interview.

James Haskell’s wife appeared on Monday’s ITV breakfast show Lorraine to defend him over claims of his “bully” behaviour – yet was caught struggling thanks to flying bugs.

Chloe spoke from a live video link to the hotel in Australia, in which she is staying until the show ends.

She looked stylish with her long blonde hair in a wavy style and a casual white shirt.

Yet her relaxed demeanour quickly switched as the creatures started to land on her during her chat, initially forcing her to apologise to host Lorraine Kelly.

Lorraine squealed: “I can see them,” referring to the insects, before likening Chloe to taking part in a insect filled challenge of her own.

Later in the interview, viewers could spot insects landing on Chloe’s stark shirt before she squealed in fear and flapped her hands around.

As her movements affected her microphone, the camera was forced to pan away from her and back to Lorraine in the studio.

The host giggled at the drama before urging her to get inside following their interview, in which she defended husband James after I’m A Celeb fans accused him of bullying.

The rugby ace was called out by viewers of the ITV reality series after he became increasingly narked and snappy last week.

They pinpointed the manner in which James, and ex footballer Ian Wright, had spoken to telly star Andrew Maxwell in the jungle – yet after his exit, he denied he was bullied by the sports pair.

James has also been slammed by spin off show presenter Emily Atack after he said he was “too intelligent” for a task in the camp.

Chloe, who married James last year, told Monday’s Lorraine show her other half was simply starving and grumpy.

Presenter Lorraine Kelly also called the bullying suggestions an “over reaction.”

Richard Madeley’s daughter said: “He’s definitely had his hangry episode, he’s had his mental day.

“But the people who leave will give you the inside scoop – and they have come up to me and said he’s doing really well in camp, he’s cheering people up, and they absolutely adore him.

“I just think he had a really grumpy day.

“He was sleep deprived, he was food deprived and he was surrounded with people you aren’t necessarily friends with.”

She added: “I think the B-Word (bully) was a little bit intense.

“All I wanted to do was go in and give him a hug and some food.”

So far, TV presenter Andrew Maxwell and DJ Adele Roberts have been evicted from camp.
