LOVE Island star Maura Higgins and Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice have split – but there were a number of clues the couple were on the way out.
Their romance hit the rocks days after moving in together and just four months after they started dating.
But before the couple decided to part ways, there were several clues that the relationship was well and truly over.
No recent posts
It has come as a shock to fans who have been bombarded with soppy snaps from the pair promising their love would last “forever”.
Over the past four months, they were posting various loved-up photos from their date nights.
The romantic posts began to slow down in the last week, with no Instagram Stories documenting their time together and no photos of them gushing over one another.
Instead, Maura has been quiet on social media. While Giovanni has been posting updates about Strictly Come Dancing and photos with his dance partner Rose Ellis Ayling.
No Xmas plan
Despite their relationship appearing to go from strength to strength, but Giovanni recently said he didn’t know if he and Maura would be spending Christmas together.
He told OK!: “We don’t know yet. We’ll see how our schedules are looking because we’re both very busy.”
Giovanni currently has work commitments on Strictly – however the final episode will fall on December 18 which is the last weekend before Christmas.
Surprisingly, the couple had not cemented plans for the festive season together.
Deleting pictures of each other
Maura deleted all trace of her Strictly boyfriend and unfollowed him from Instagram.
Giovanni soon followed suit – sparking rumours the Strictly curse has struck once again.
Giovanni and Maura teased their romance for weeks before confirming they were an item in July.
It came just two months after Maura‘s split from her ex Christopher Taylor.
Giovanni wrote on Instagram: “You’re mine” as he shared a picture of them nose to nose in a sweet embrace.
Their relationship appeared to go form nought to 100 – with sources telling HOAR: “Giovanni has never felt like this about anyone before.”
There’s been rumours he was planning to propose, as the pair told friends they’d found “the one”.
HOAR reported earlier this month that the smitten duo wanted to take their relationship to the next stage and were looking for their very own love nest.
However, the pair have now deleted all their loved-up photos together and have stopped making any reference to one another on social media.
Strictly curse
Giovanni is partnered with Rose Ayling-Ellis on Strictly Come Dancing and Maura has been a fervent cheerleader for the pair.
Maura took to her social media to wish her boyfriend and his dance partner Rose, 26, the “very best of luck” ahead of their first dance.
Alongside a photograph of the pair, she wrote: “The very best of luck to you both tonight. I know you will absolutely smash it.”
However, Maura did not post any messages of support after Giovanni’s last performance.
HOAR can reveal it’s all over between Love Island stunner Maura and Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni.
A source said: “It’s all over for now. Maura’s absolutely devastated, it appears the Strictly curse has struck again.
“Pals are hoping that they can patch things up. But only time will tell whether they’ll work things out as Giovanni is so busy.
“He’s been focusing on Strictly, training his celeb partner Rose 24/7, and they’ve become really good friends. He’s even been learning sign language from Rose, showing it off on social media.
“Maura’s decided to take a step back and let him concentrate on the show.”
A rep for Giovanni declined to comment on the split while reps for Maura did not respond.
