LOVE Island star Cara De La Hoyde has given an honest insight into what life after giving birth is really like.

On Saturday the 30-year-old reality star was rushed to hospital to be induced after being diagnosed with pre eclampsia.

Cara De La Hoyde, 30, showed off her post-baby body just a day after giving birth to her daughter

HOAR Online revealed Cara gave birth to her first daughter on the morning of July 28.

Just one day after giving birth, Cara shared a topless selfie of herself showing the “reality” of a post-partum body.

In the honest pic, Cara is standing side on in white pants, with tropical leaf print and is covering her breasts with her arm.

Her hair is tied up in a messy bun and her belly is popping out.

The reality star regularly kept her fans up to date with her pregnancy

She captioned the Instagram post: “The reality of having [a] baby.”

New mothers often will have a post-partum bump for days and even weeks after giving birth.

It’s caused by weight gain during pregnancy, hormones and from the abdominal muscles and connective tissue stretching to make room for the baby growing inside their bellies.

The baby girl is Cara’s second child with husband Nathan Massey, both 28.

They met on the second series of Love Island in 2016, which they went on to win.

They split the following year – just a month before Cara revealed that she was pregnant with their first child, two-year-old son Freddie-George.

The couple soon reunited and married in July 2019, before revealing they were pregnant with their second in March this year.

Of her hospital dash, Cara’s rep previously told HOAR: “Due to the pre eclampsia diagnosis, Cara has been admitted to hospital to be induced early for the safety of her and her baby.

She is also mum to a two-year-old boy, Freddie

“Her husband Nathan is with her in hospital at this time.”

Posting a snap from her hospital bed with Nathan by her side, the couple wore face masks as they waited to be seen by a doctor.

Cara said: “Wonder how long we’re going to be here.”

She added: “Wild Saturday for mum & dad.”

Cara was seen looking fed-up on Sunday evening as Nathan filmed her trying to focus on her breathing in her hospital bed while waiting to give birth.

He later shared a photo of himself with Freddie, updating fans: “So me and Fred are patiently waiting for his little sister to come along. No sign as of yet!”

Proud Nathan called his wife a “hero” as he announced the birth on his Instagram page today – admitting that it’d been an “emotional” morning.

He said in a video post: “Hi guys, just to let everyone know that Cara delivered our beautiful baby daughter this morning, she did an absolutely fantastic job.

“I just want to say, Cara you are a hero. Really, really emotional this morning – everything is good, Cara’s doing great, the baby’s doing great.

“I just want to say one thing – us blokes could never in a million years go through what women do, so every woman that gives birth hats off to you because I don’t think us geezers have the pain threshold.
