CAROLINE Flack’s show The Surjury has been cancelled by Channel 4 following the star’s tragic death.

The 40-year-old presenterwas today found dead in her flat after taking her own life.

Channel 4 have axed Caroline Flack’s show The Surjury

The programme – set to launch this year – saw contestants pitch their dream bodies to a jury of strangers.

If they could get 75 per cent of them behind the procedures, they get them for free.

Following the news of Caroline’s death, Channel 4 have decided not to go ahead with the show.

A spokesperson said: “We are shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news about Caroline Flack.

The cancellation comes after her shock death

“Our deepest sympathies go out to Caroline’s family and friends. Under the circumstances, we have decided not to broadcast The Surjury.”

Caroline passionately defended the concept of the show against criticism when it was announced.

Jameela Jamil tweeted at the time: “Welp. Black Mirror is officially happening guys. It’s here.”

Caroline tweeted back: “Have you managed to see a copy before me? Please forward .. am desperate to see..

“Because I’ve filmed it and the people who have taken part are amazing and have been through a lot and life is about individual choice …”

Saturday night’s Love Island was also cancelled

Saturday’s scheduled episode of Love Island Unseen Bits was also pulled from viewing.

The channel paid tribute to the former Love Island host in a heartfelt statement, which read: “Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news.

“Caroline was a much loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends.”

The popular star’s devastated family announced the sad news of Carolines death earlier this evening, saying in a statement: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

“We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”

The star’s managers blasted the CPS tonight for pursuing the “vulnerable” star before she tragically took her own life.

Former Love Island host Carolinewas told on Friday the CPS were continuing with the trial – even though she and her boyfriend Lewis Burton urged authorities to discontinue it.

Caroline stepped down as host of Love Island after being charged with assaulting boyfriend Lewis Burton shortly before Christmas, with Laura Whitmore stepping in as her replacement.

She was due in court next month, having always insisted her innocence.

Model Lewis, 27, alsodenied the prosecution and made a public declaration of his love for the star in a heartfelt Valentines Day post yesterday.

The ex tennis player was told the terrible news of Carolines death while on a skiing holiday with pals and was tonight travelling back to the UK.

Caroline Flack was the host of Love Island until the first Winter series

Herfamous friends have taken to social media to share heartbreaking tributesto the star, with Laura Whitmore, Philllip Schofield and ex Islanders sharing their sadness at her death.

Carolines final Instagram post came just two days before her death and showed her giving beloved dog Ruby a kiss.
