DANCING On Ice pro Carlotta Edwards has hit out at Love Island star Maura Higgins over her recent marriage split.
She told friends she “doesn’t believe” husband Alex Demetriou’s claims that he had no romantic feelings for his dance partner Maura.
And Carlotta, 30, insisted she was “upset and hurt” when he claimed she was jealous of the close bond between the skating partners.
A source said: “Carlotta is devastated and hurting from her split with Alex.
“She’s upset by his accusations of jealousy and doesn’t believe he didn’t have romantic feelings for Maura.
“As far as she’s concerned they were happy, then she came on the scene and their marriage fell apart.”
Alex, 30, announced the end of his four-year marriage to Carlotta last month.
He told HOAR on Sunday last week: “Several times I had to explain to Carlotta that Maura and I were just friends.”
Since the ITV show ended in February, Alex has been in Blackpool with family and Carlotta is with a pal in Calgary, Canada.
The source said: “She is working on coming back to the show stronger than ever.”
