LOVE Island’s Megan Barton-Hanson has made an early new year’s resolution . . . to bag a serious partner in 2021.
The former pole dancer, who wowed fans on the ITV2 show in 2018, has even vowed to ditch the sexy outfits and start “dressing like a nun” to help her find love.
Bisexual Megan, 26, has enjoyed an on-off relationship with songwriter and footballer Chelcee Grimes, 28, after dating fellow Islander Wes Nelson, 22.
And now she is putting the call out to single Sun on Sunday readers.
She said: “I’ve never been angelic but I’m going to start dressing like a nun in the New Year.
“I’m looking for love now. I feel like at my age I’ve had enough dates, enough partners and enough of seeing different people, I’m not about wasting time.
“As you get older, you don’t want to just have a quick fling.
“I’ve always worried about being the trophy girlfriend or if men would just want to sleep with me or have me as a girlfriend as an ego thing.
“I want someone who is super- genuine, doesn’t get into stuff seriously and is just up for a laugh.
“And someone who is up for a socially distanced date on New Year’s Eve — someone spontaneous.”
But Megan, who it is claimed makes up to £800,000 a month sharing shoots on X-rated subscription site OnlyFans, has reassured her loyal followers she will keep the racy posts coming — for their eyes only.
She added: “I’ll save all the naughtiness for OnlyFans.
“My subscribers see the less angelic version of me — I like to keep them captivated.”
Megan made her name during her stint in the Love Island villa after hooking up with model Eyal Booker, 25, then setting her sights on nuclear engineer Wes. They coupled up and finished fourth on the show.
Outside of the reality show the pair moved in together — and were caught romping in disabled toilets at Southend airport a month later.
But they split in January 2019, shortly after Wes appeared on Dancing On Ice.
A month later Megan announced she was bisexual and has since said she wishes she had come out while she was on Love Island.
She briefly dated Demi Sims, 24 — sister of Towie’s Chloe — after meeting her on E4 show Celebs Go Dating in summer 2019.
This week she credited her ex for being the first openly bisexual woman on reality TV.
Shortly after her split from Demi, Megan moved on with Tranmere Rovers Ladies ace and songwriter Chelcee, but it was a rocky romance.
In October 2019, a month after the couple went public for the first time, they took time apart.
Megan and Chelcee rekindled their relationship, putting on a loved-up display in the Maldives in February, but split again in April after spending lockdown separately.
It appeared to be back on in September as Megan and Chelcee were spotted kissing outside a restaurant in Essex, but they have since unfollowed each other on social media.
And Megan has had a change of heart since she told HOAR two months ago that she has turned her back on men and will “definitely marry a woman”.
She is now open to meeting men and women and says she has developed a special radar for detecting “her type”.
Megan said: “I feel like I’m a good judge of character. Within a few dates you can tell someone’s intentions.
“You’ve got to remember, before Love Island, even though I was no one, I worked in a strip club and in my little town of Essex I was quite known, and people knew me as the glamour girl or whatever.
“I don’t know what they’d call me, but yeah, like the glamorous one.”
Megan admits she gets bored easily in relationships, so any new suitor would have to be able to keep her on her toes. She said: “I hate routine. My longest relationship has been a year and a half and that was when I was 18.
So yeah, I get bored very, very quickly, so I like to keep it interesting.
“If someone wants to pin me down they need to keep it interesting and be spontaneous.
“Do you know what kills it for me? When people get too comfortable, and I’m not even talking on a sexual level or in the bedroom. Just respect and compliments, and be as nice as you were at the beginning.
“When you lose respect for each other or get too comfortable, that’s when it all goes t*ts up, and that’s when I’m running for the door.
“I’m much nicer than people think, and more sensitive and soft than people imagine. People think I’m an absolute savage. But I’m really kind and quite sensitive and vulnerable.
“But my boundaries and standards for people, they’ve got to meet such a higher criteria now.
“I’ve gone through so much s**t, any red flags, any warning signs, you’re gone. The standards are high.”
Playing it cool
As well as her infamous romp in the airport toilet, Megan has openly talked about enjoying sex in public places. She suggested spontaneity would be a must for any potential new partner.
Addressing her public romps, she said: “These are all very in the moment, and they were all while I was in long-term relationships. It’s healthy to keep it interesting and fun.
“I don’t like to pre-plan, that’s such a mood-killer when you plan something too much.”
After being hurt in previous relationships, Megan finds it harder to open up now.
She said: “I feel like it’s getting a lot tougher for people to break down my barriers, and for me to be interested in someone.
“When I was younger, if they were attractive or funny, I overlooked red flags.
“As I get older I’m getting pickier and pickier, so whoever the person is, they’ve got their work cut out.”
Megan decided to put her love life in the hands of the professionals again, and has been starring on MTV’s Celeb Ex In The City with lothario Calum Best and Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer.
As well as awkward encounters with former lovers, Megan was sent on blind dates with men and women.
Despite her confident exterior, she revealed the show left her crippled by nerves.
She said: “I was sitting there sweating. I was like, ‘I’m not playing it cool at all’. When I walked in I was like Barry Big Balls, super confident, and then by the end of it I was a wreck. I was like, ‘Oh my god, that was so much stress’.
“It definitely was a surprise. So it will make for great TV, I’m sure.”
Megan has accepted romance will have to be temporarily put on hold because of Covid restrictions and it could scupper her plans to spend Christmas with her parents too.
She said: “It’s going to be another single Christmas this year, but I love just chatting to people and having fun. When lockdown restrictions lift I’m definitely planning to go on a few dates.”
