LOVE Island’s Amber Gill jetted off to Dubai last week for a luxury holiday that saw her basking in the sunshine on speedboats with cocktails in hand.

The 23-year-old has been enjoying life in the UAE, going all out for her first trip to Dubai – which has become quite the celebrity hot-spot this winter.

Sunbathing at a beach bar, Amber filmed herself sitting in her bikini yesterday before heading off for an expensive meal with friends.

While answering a series of questions on her Instagram story, the Love Island winner teased a series of photos of views from her holiday.

In one, she styles her designer bag in front of a harbour and crystal clear waters, while in another snaps her hotel balcony overlooking the Burj Al Arab.

She also revealed she was spending time with fellow ITV contestant Kaz Crossley, who joined her for breakfast one morning.

Over the weekend, the Newcastle native gave further insight into the break – sharing a photo of her breakfast at the luxury hotel she was staying at.

She showed off a Instagram-worthy meal from restaurant Asia Asia, and documented the views from central Dubai, with a backdrop of skyscrapers.

While Amber spent much of her time sipping on “elite” sparkling water, cocktails were bound to be flowing over the glamorous dinner.

Following criticism from fans that she had broken Tier 4 rules, which advises people not to travel, Amber lightened her mood with a boat trip.

The reality star was forced to clap back at the rule-breaking claims, heading to her Instagram story to explain she had “no idea” what the latest guidelines meant.

Amber defended her holiday after fans criticised her decision to travel

She wrote: “Just want to put it out there that I had no idea Tier 4 was a thing.

“The flight here was booked way before. I thought the only changes were being made on the 16th meaning I was still allowed to travel for work.”

Amber added that she feared she may be stuck in Dubai over Christmas over “confusion” on what the latest guidelines meant for travel.

“I have no idea what I’m doing,” she continued. “I was only supposed to be here 4 days. Now I don’t know where I’m supposed to go or if I should stay here, it’s all mad.”

“I like to laugh my way through life because if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry,” she concluded. “I’ve never not been in Newcastle with my family for Christmas.”

In a story that has since been removed, Amber responded to further criticism after one fan told her she shouldn’t “share her holiday when things are so bad in the UK” as it was “bad for mental health”.

Amber wrote: “I had to watch everyone in Dubai when I was sat in the house and I’m glad people are having a good time and enjoying life.

“There is s*** going on in my own life and I don’t expect people to stop posting certain things because it makes you feel a type of way.”

Criticism hasn’t stopped the reality star from enjoying herself

Amber isn’t the only Love Islander to have taken off to Dubai despite the travel restrictions.

Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury also jetted to the glamorous holiday destination last week before flying onwards to the Maldives for an extended break.

They were joined by fellow former contestants Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor, while Wes Nelson and Amber Davis also holidayed there separately.

Like Amber, Molly-Mae was forced to defend herself from her followers after posting about her holiday while millions at home were plunged into Tier 4.

The 21-year-old wrote: “In response to the messages I’m already getting about us being away throughout this time, please understand that Tommy and I left the UK from Cheshire which was in Tier 2 at the time.

“We didn’t break any rules coming away. If we knew these rules were going to be put in place then obviously we would have never left the UK.

“The minute we arrive home we will be following government guidelines.”

The new Tier 4 rules in the south East saw a travel ban enforced, with Brits only allowed to leave their homes for essential reasons.
