LEWIS Burton posted a heartbreaking final message to his girlfriend Caroline Flack yesterday before her tragic suicide.
The 27 year old shared a Valentine’s Day message to his Instagram Story declaring his love.
Posting on his Instagram Story, Lewis shared a photo of the Love Island presenter beaming as she posed next to her beau.
Looking happy and relaxed in the candid snap, the pair appeared to have been enjoying a pint together in a bar.
Lewis captioned the image: “Happy Valentine’s, love you”.
He added a heart and kissing face emoji.
This evening, it was confirmed that Caroline had been found dead at her London flat after taking her own life, aged 40.
A family statement read: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.
“We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”
Ex tennis player Lewis was told the terrible news of her death while on a skiing holiday with pals and was tonight travelling back to the UK.
Lewis and Caroline had been banned from having any contact after she was accused of hitting him with a lamp in December.
The presenter’s trial was due to start on March 4 after being charged with assault. She always denied the charges against her.
Earlier this week, Caroline was seen beaming as she tackled a climbing wall with a friend.
Just days before her death, the star appeared relaxed and in good spirits as she messed around with TV producer friend Mollie Grosberg.
Caroline was seen posing for photos as she tried her hand at bouldering, giving up and joking: “Ooh, I don’t like it”.
Carolines own last Instagram post also came a day before her death and showed her giving her pet dog Ruby a kiss.
The poignant snap showed Caroline with freshly-dyed blonde hair puckering up to the French bulldog in the post that was liked by 122,000 people.
A Love Island rep said in a statement: “Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news.
“Caroline was a much loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends.”
