NEW Love Island star Mike Boateng has quit his police officer job for fame.
The 24 year old left his job with Greater Manchester Police, according to reports, before entering the Love Island villa.
The Mirror claims his bosses refused to let him on the show so he quit in December.
A spokesperson for GMP said: “Mr Boateng is no longer a GMP officer. He left the organisation prior to taking part in the show.”
In Mikes show intro, he boasts about being a cop and talks about kinky sex sessions wearing handcuffs.
“My name is Mike, I’m 24 years old and I’m a police officer from London, he says in the video.
I’m lucky because of my job as a police officer, I can use the cheeky lines about getting handcuffs out! It normally works.
“I have been mistaken for a stripper on many occasions but let me tell you, I’m not a stripper, I just make the uniform look good.
“I think it’s illegal to be as sexy as me so if I see anyone as sexy as me they’ll probably get locked up to.
“Although my head has been turned in the past I can assure any girl in the villa that they can definitely trust me.
“I’ll be that guy – that officer Mike that you can lean on.”
Mike joined the police force in 2017 and now clearly thinks his future is on TV.
Love Island starts this Sunday, ITV2 at 9pm.
