THE new series of Love Island is set to begin on Monday, June 5, with a whole new group of sexy singletons ready to compete for the £50k prize.
And the line up has now officially been announced – as has a major twist in the coupling process, which has left a lot of fans unhappy.
Love Island fans have been left saying the same as a twist in the coupling process was revealed
After sharing a photo of the exciting new cast on the official Love Island Instagram page, ITV asked viewers: “Want to play Cupid?”
Before adding: “Great, because the first coupling up will be decided by YOU! Keep your eyes peeled for more info.”
But viewers argued that the contestants should choose who they couple up with themselves.
One person wrote: “Just let them choose man,” and a second added: “WHY DO WE HAVE TO VOTE WHO GOES TOGETHER? THEY HAVE TO CHOOSE WHO THEY WANNA BE WITH? THIS IS SO DUMB.”
A third penned: “NOT THIS AGAIN. Please just let them decide,” and a fourth said: “Why this again..”
Many were in agreement that it would “be better” if contestants were allowed to choose for themselves.
It’s not the first time the hit ITV show has used this method to couple the contestants at the beginning of the series.
The first ten villa residents have already been announced including Andre Furtado, George Fensom and Ella Thomas.
The summer edition of Love Island 2023 kicks off on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 9pm.
Viewers will be able to watch the drama unfold on ITV2 and ITVX.
