Maya Jama rides bucking bronco in latest Love Island trailer

LOVE Island host Maya Jama shut down a fan who claimed she is part of the Illuminati after spotting a ‘giveaway’ hand sign.

The presenter, 28, has touched down in South Africa ahead of the new series of the ITV reality show.

Maya Jama has been accused of being a member of the Illuminati

A fan claimed this OK symbol was a giveaway that she belonged to a shadowy secret society

And one of Maya’s first acts on foreign soil was to hit back at the follower who took offence to her making an OK sign with her hands in an Instagram picture from the flight.

The fan wrote: “All these Illuminati signs to be famous, you must sign your soul over… no respect at all now.”

It caught Maya’s eye, and she replied: “Honestly it’s an ‘ok’ sign. You lot need to low it [laughing emoji]. I’ve not signed anything, you can rest.”

The Illuminati is an alleged 250-year-old secret society that has huge global influence and runs entire nations from the shadows.

Many celebrities, including Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Katy Perry, have been accused of being members by conspiracy theorists, who often point to gestures or symbolism the celebs use as evidence.

The theorists believe the organisation is trying to establish a New World Order to control every aspect of society.

However, there is no actual evidence the society exists – let alone that some of the biggest names in the world belong to it.

Meanwhile Maya opened up about her four-year relationship with Stormzy, who she dated from 2015 to 2019, over the weekend in a new interview.

In the interview with HOARday Times, Maya insisted she is very much single despite being linked with her ex.

She explained: ”We were so young when we met, just beginning our careers.

“I was starting at MTV. He’d not even released a single at that point. We were just little babies.”

“I don’t think either of us knew it was going to be such a big thing. We were just: we’re young and in love and we’re going to go for it and work really hard.”

She added: “We’re just together. We never really did red carpets. We didn’t do any of that stuff.”

Maya insisted that despite speculation the pair are back together, she is happy to be single as she only recently split from Australian basketball star Ben Simmons.

“I’m really, really single right now. Newly single. It’s only been a month, but it’s nice.”
