LOVE Island reunion viewers were left outraged tonight as Marcel Somerville said he split from Gabby Allen because they “drifted apart”.
The Blazin’ Squad star – who recently proposed to his pregnant girlfriend – appeared to have forgotten the pair’s bitter end when she dumped him for cheating on her while they were on holiday together.
“It’s just one of those things,” he told pal Sam Gowland on Love Island: What Happened Next tonight.
And viewers were outraged – rushing to Twitter to share their thoughts on Marcel’s short memory.
“Marcel ‘everything happens for a reason we just didn’t work out’ might be because you cheated on her,” one tweeted.
“Not Marcel saying everything happens for a reason, when he was the one who cheated on Gabby !! on holiday !! in the hotel they were staying together !!” another added.
“It just didn’t work out” Hahaha you cheated,” a third wrote.
“The relationship ended because you cheated on her Marcel,” another added.
In April 2018 Gabby confronted Marcel with incriminating text messages she found on his phone from another woman.
Marcel arranged to meet the fellow guest at the resort for “day sex” while Gabby worked out in the gym.
A source said: “They had a row one night so Gabby went back to their hotel room to sleep.
“Marcel started chatting to another woman at the bar where they kissed in full view of other guests.
“He insisted that he was staying there for promotional purposes and that it was over between him and Gabby.”
Gabby then dated Myles Stephenson from September 2018 until August 2019, when they split over alleged messages he sent to other girls.
n June 2018, Marcel accused his ex-girlfriend Gabby of cheating on him with Dan Osborne – and slammed her for playing the “victim” when he was exposed for playing away.
He believed Gabby and Dan had sex on a work trip to Marbella and confronted her over his suspicions, even suggesting the pair carried on sleeping together back in the UK.
But Gabby furiously denied his claims.
The ex-couple reportedly had a huge row on the phone after Marcel challenged his former lover over the nature of her relationship with ex-Towie star Dan, who had split from wife Jacqueline Jossa.
A spokesman for Gabby at the time said: “Gabby was 100 per cent faithful during her relationship with Marcel and finds it disappointing that he is attempting to make himself feel better about his own adultery with these baseless and malicious untruths.”
