LOVE Island star Doctor Alex George has revealed his new life changing medical diagnosis.

The Doctor announced the news of his new medical diagnosis with his 1.9million followers on Instagram.

Dr Alex George admitted he’s been diagnosed with ADHD and he’s found it tough to “come to terms with”

Alex appeared in the hit ITV2 Reality series Love Island in 2018

Taking to Instagram, Alex told his followers that he has now been diagnosed with “Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder”, known as ADHD.

He revealed the news with a slew of posts of him opening up about his recent medical diagnosis.

The former Love Island star captioned the heartfelt post: “Some news that I have been wanting to share with you [ blue heart emoji].”

In the the first post he said: “The tipping point for me to finally see someone was my Stompcast conversation with Toddla T, who gave me the strength to stop burying my head in the sand and look for some answers.”

He then went on to say that over the last few months he has undergoing assessments and has now been diagnosed with ADHD.

He continued: “I hate that name and I particularly hate the word disorder. I’ll tell you why another day. It’s been a weird few weeks coming to terms with this “diagnosis”. I’m not exactly sure why, I’m the same Alex and I shouldn’t feel different.

The star was soon flooded with comments from his adoring fans.

One fan wrote: ” Many of the best people I know have ADHD, displayed in many different ways. Strength over stigma. Thank you for sharing.”

Another wrote: ” So proud of you for sharing, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Just with mental health there is a massive taboo and often names attached to things that feel as if they don’t fit right.”

A third commented: “Well done for speaking out as I guarantee this will have helped countless of others who are feeling so lost and alone.”

While a fourth said: “Amazing that you bare all on social media in so many ways. Truly inspiring for all generations. Keep being you.”

A fifth echoed: ” Well done for speaking out, especially for all those who sitting in silence.”

Alex later thanked everyone for the support in a heartwarming Instagram story post.

He said: ” I’m moved to tears by your kindness and messaged on my post. It’s been hard to share but I feel relief now.

The comes after the medical doctor revealed in May, he suffers with body dysmorphia and opened up about his battle with body image.

The star became the Youth Mental Health Ambassador to the government in 2021.
