THE Love Island villa has been put in quarantine after crew were struck down by norovirus.
Producers on the ITV2 show are on high alert about the violent bug which can be spread by kissing.
An insider in Cape Town, South Africa, said: If the virus reaches the contestants then it could bring the show to a halt for three or four days.
Nobody is going to watch them throwing up or having the s****.
Workers including hairstylists have reported stomach cramps which turned into serious sickness, forcing them to stay within seconds of a toilet.
Medical experts are checking to see where the virus originated. Those struck down have been ordered to remain in their hotel rooms.
Producers may hire local crew while they recover. Sanitation points and hand wash areas have been placed around the villa.
Crew have been forbidden from shaking hands or kissing, and each has been issued with a medical pack which include probiotics and rehydration packs.
The insider added: Everything is being done to quarantine the villa from the outside world so that bug doesnt get in.
There was a similar crisis in Season One so people know what to do. The contestants food is thought to be brought in by outside caterers and film crew are fed and watered from the same source.
This crisis comes days after Ollie Williams was forced to quit the show after our story about him slaughtering wild animals sparked outrage.
ITV claimed he left because he missed his ex but that was widely ridiculed.
Two boys will join the villa today.
