LOVE Island star Biggs Chris has apologised to girlfriend Rebecca Gormley after his ex claimed he was still dating her when he was on the show.
Makeup artist Lori Matthews shared screenshots of alleged text exchanges between her and Chris from back in March after Love Island had ended.
Biggs was a late addition to the villa and failed to find a meaningful partner during his time on the show.
The short video begins with Lori sitting under the words: “Think you can hurt my feelings? My ex convinced me to support him going on Love Island… then left me after to get with another Islander.”
It is then followed by messages between the former couple seemingly prior to Love Island in which Biggs said: “Babe am gonna smash it for us.”
They appeared to be texting even as he boarded the plane to South Africa, where the show was filmed.
The messages then skip to the end of March when Lori demanded to know what’s going on.
Biggs tried to reassure her, writing: “The Rebecca thing will never proceed.”
He goes on to call the relationship “fake” after Lori demanded he end it.
The video finishes with Lori spitting out her drink while superimposed on a picture of Biggs and Rebecca.
It didn’t take long for the clip to reach Biggs, who uploaded an apology video on his Instagram story while with Rebecca.
He said: “I just wanna address this madness.”
Insisting he knew something like this would happen, he went on: “When others see others being happy they just want to tear us down.We didn’t plan this. I didn’t not ever think this was ever gonna happen.”
Out of shot, Rebecca said: “I’m not bothered. Obviously I appreciate your apology.”
But Biggs continued: “I apologise to you for any mistake I’ve made. Keep it moving, keep it positive.”
Earlier today Rebecca shared her appreciation for her fans’ support, writing on her story: “I am so grateful for everyone’s messages. I love you all! Everything is good with me and Biggs. Living in the moment not in the past.”
