The 27-year-old posted a heart breaking tribute to his “sweet boy” Benji, who he told to “fly high”.

“Never did I imagine you’d teach me so much responsibility. My best friend & companion,” he wrote.

He continued: “From boys to men, 14 years of unconditional love.

I’ll miss sharing my morning banana bread with you & watching you stroll round the park bringing joy into everyone’s life.

It sounds crazy but anyone that met or came across Benji will no doubt understand what I mean.

“Thank you for being mine. Truly man’s best friend. Rest easy my big, smelly boy. Ily.”

His touching tribute has left some fans in tears as they shared their condolences with the star.

“Sending so much love @eyalbooker. What an incredible dog he was,” said another.

A third fan commented: “I’m so sorry, nothing quite prepares you for when you lose your pet. Thinking of you x.”

“R.I.P. Benji. I’m sorry to hear. My thoughts and prayers are with you mate,” said a fourth.

Eyal shot to fame when he appeared on the 2018 series of Love Island.

The self-described actor and wannabe presenter started modelling for commercial brands when he was 11 before working part-time at a boutique London agency.

Eyal had a few ups and downs during his time in the villa.

After being coupled with Hayley Hughes on the first day, things quickly turned sour and they de-coupled after an almighty row.

He then cracked on with Megan Barton-Hanson and they became the first couple to have sex on that series of Love Island.

But she didn’t hang around for long and dumped the curly-haired hunk.

He was then booted off the show with Zara McDermott in one of the show’s most brutal evictions.

His touching tribute has left some fans in tears as they shared their condolences with the star.
