Love Island’s Marcel Somerville ‘targeted by machete gang in bid to steal his car’

LOVE Island star Marcel Somerville was robbed at knifepoint in a terrifying moped mugging, it was reported today.

The 34-year-old was on his way to a restaurant in East London with a pal when they were attacked by four masked men armed with machetes.

Marcel Somerville was threatened with machetes, it was claimed

A source close to Marcel told OK! online: “Marcel and his mate were driving around east London heading to their favourite restaurant and they noticed some people on mopeds getting close to them.

“Each time they stopped at a set of traffic lights the mopeds would pull up next to them on either side of the car and just looked shady.

“Then when Marcel and his friend pulled into a side street to park up they saw the mopeds head towards them again. Each moped had two people on and they kind of circled around the car.”

The insider claimed the attackers then drew machetes as they got off their mopeds.

“As Marcel opened his car door two of the gang got off the bikes and went for him with their machetes drawn swinging them at him. So he quickly closed the door and they locked the car from the inside.”

Marcel Somerville was previously a member of English hip hop group, Blazin’ Squad, from 2001 to 2004.

Since finding telly fame through Love Island, Marcel has reunited with his Blazin’ Squad pals.

However, instead of doing reunion gigs with them Marcel has decided to tour alone and release his own book, as well as doing modelling.
