LOVE Island’s Shaughna Phillips and Towie’s Pete Wicks have sparks flying between them as the get closer during Celebs Go Dating.

Shaughna, 25, thinks Pete is “lovely” and was more open minded going into their date after the show’s expert dating agents said they’d be a good match.

Sparks flew between Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips and Towie’s Pete Wicks as they filmed for Celebs Go Dating

Ahead of their coronavirus-friendly Zoom date, the Celebs Go Dating experts, Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson, told her she could really hit it off with Pete.

Shaughna told HOAR Online exclusively that she felt starstruck talking to the Towie star.

“Anna and Paul have actually said to me that they think me and Pete are alike in the sense that we kind of go along with things to be nice,” the Londoner explained

“That could be a perfect chemistry! He’s probably not my type on paper, but he’s lovely!

They were joined by Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry (L)

Shaughna is hoping to have better luck finding love on Celebs Go Dating than she did on Love Island

Pete originally appeared on Celebs Go Dating last year

“It’s strange to me because I definitely get starstruck. Even on the first Zoom call with him I was probably a little bit quiet because it’s like, ‘Oh my God!’.”

She added: “He is a charmer, I’ll give him that! Him and all the others are celebrities, I am trying to get used to it! I don’t feel like a celebrity, it’s just so weird!”

A source close to the show also told HOAR Online the pair have been “growing closer”.

The insider said “sparks were flying” between them on set.

Shaughna wasn’t so sure she’d be keen on Pete, but has since described him as ‘lovely’

Shaughna is starring on the E4 dating show’s first ever socially-distanced and virtual series alongside Pete and Geordie Shore alum Chloe Ferry.

Celebs Go Virtual Dating will be a spinoff to Celebs Go Dating but will bring all the dating drama of its sister show.

The virtual love fest will come added challenges of video vetting matches and trying to find that spark on a socially distanced date.

The series will see expert dating agents, Paul and Anna return to the celebrity dating agency, assisted by celeb confidante, Tom Read Wilson.

Insiders said the pair have been ‘growing close’

HOAR Online revealed earlier this month that the Love Island star would be on the cast of the E4 dating show.

A source told us: “Anyone who’s seen Shaughna on Love Island knows she’s hilarious but she needs help in the dating department.

“She’s hoping the agency can work some magic and set her up with a hot lad who won’t pie her off on national telly.”
