LOVE Island’s Sophie Piper and Connor Durman have split six months after leaving the island.

The couple paired up on the show, but haven’t seen each other since lockdown started – and have now agreed to call time on their relationship.

“Things just fizzled out,” says a source. “They never even went official.

“It just didn’t have a chance to get started because of lockdown and they both agreed it was better to just stay friends.”

The coffee salesman and the admin assistant – whose sister is Rochelle Humes – agreed to stay together when Connor was dumped from the island.

When Sophie left the show, the pair said they were ‘taking things slow’ – but never officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.

The couple had plans to move in together but things ‘fizzled out’

Connor denied the pair were on the rocks in March, insisting that they had plans to move in together – but then lockdown happened.

Since then, the pair have stopped liking each other’s pictures and commenting on each other’s Instagrams.

In June, Sophie insisted they were still planning to see each other, saying: “No we are not together at all! We are just seeing each other!”

“It is a situation-ship. I’m just enjoying that. I will get to know him, go on dates with him.

“We’re yet to have a first date. Obviously we’ve both been so busy, but he’s coming back down to London tomorrow so hopefully I’ll see him again then.”

However, Sophie and Connor haven’t been seen together since February, despite Connor meeting up with fellow Islanders Jamie Clayton and Callum Jones last weekend.
